Jennifer Brown

I consider myself to be primarily a watercolor artist but I also work with oils and in pen and ink. I have self-published one children’s book called Daphne’s Overnight Adventure. Having worked for many years as a puzzle designer and as notecard creator, I most enjoy working in my sketchbooks.

About Me

Art has always been a safe place and an outlet. When I was a kid, drawing felt natural and was a good way to create stories. In my young adulthood, I felt most at home and most free in art classes. As a mom with two growing girls in rural Vermont, creative projects generated consistent inspiration and new perspectives. And now, six decades later, making art is still where I feel most confident and joyful.

Today,

I have more time to create every day. I love working in watercolor, oil, and ink, and sometimes just doodling on my iPad!

My illustrations have been featured in the New York Times Magazine, The Valley News, and The Herald of Randolph. I share my work at the AVA Gallery and Matt Brown Fine Art. I teach watercolor and illustration; see the Events page for each season’s upcoming classes.
